The adult moths of this species are off-white with broad black transverse bands at the base, centre, and margin of each forewing. The hindwings are uniformly brown. The wingspan is about 1.5 cms.

The species is found all over the northern half of Australia, including:

  • Northern Territory,
  • Queensland, and
  • Victoria.
