The Caterpillar of this species is a minor pest on various agricultural FABACEAE including :

  • Mung Beans ( Vigna radiata ), and
  • Cow Peas ( Vigna unguiculata ).

    The adult moth has forewings that have a pink marginal half containing a diffuse yellow band, and a basal pale brown half fading to pale yellow at the base. The hindwings are pale brown darkening toward the margins. This moth has a wingspan about 2 cms.

    The species is found in south east Asia including:

  • India,
  • Japan,
  • New Guinea,
  • Sri Lanka, and
  • Taiwan,

    as well as the northern half of Australia, including:

  • Western Australia,
  • Northern Territory,
  • Queensland, and
  • New South Wales.
