These adult moths are brown, with forewings that each have a grey area around the wingtips, one or two dark serrated transverse lines, and two white spots: one near the base, and one nearer the centre of the wing. The hindwings are pale brown shading darker at the margins. The forewing margins each have an elbow. The wingspan of the females is up to 4 cms. The males have wingspans up to 3.5 cms.
