These Caterpillars live underground, feeding on the roots of:

  • Desert Glasswort ( Pachycornia triandra, CHENOPODIACEAE ) and
  • Bassia ( Bassia hyssopifolia, CHENOPODIACEAE ).

    The male adult moths have a pattern of light and dark fawn on the wings. They have a wingspan of about 5 cms. The females have reduced wings and cannot fly.

    The species occurs in inland Australia, including

  • Queensland.
