The adult moths of this species have grey forewings, each crossed by a network of incomplete curved dark lines. The hindwings are white with grey edges. At rest the moths wrap their wings around their body. There is a double grey tuft tipped with black on the thorax. The wingspan of the males is about 4 cms. The wingspan of the females is about 5 cms.

The species has been found in

  • Western Australia,
  • Queensland,
  • New South Wales,
  • Australian Capital Territory,
  • Victoria, and
  • South Australia.
