The adult moth of this species is spectacular. It has grey forewings each with a yellow apex, a white spot on the margin, and two midwing white spots with red centres. The hindwings are orange with yellow margins. The head and thorax are orange, and the abdomen red with a brown last segment bearing a tuft of white hairs. The moth has a wingspan up to 6 cms.
