The adult moth of this species has bands of light and darker brown across the wings, and some white spots near the tips of the forewings The moth has a wingspan of about 4 cms. This species was found in the north of Western Australia.

Named species from Western Australia include:

  • Hypsidia australica,
  • Hypsidia grisea,
  • Hypsidia microspila, and
  • Hypsidia niphosema,
