The adult moths of this species are pale brown with a scattering of darker specks and spots. They have a wingspan of 34-38 mm.

The eggs are ridged and spherical and white, with a diameter of about 0.5 mm. They turn red as they approach hatching.

The species is found in open eucalypt woodland in:

  • Tasmania,
  • South Australia,
  • Victoria, and
  • New South Wales.
