The Caterpillars of this species are thought to feed on

  • Karnataka ( Xylia species, FABACEAE ).

    The adult moths are pale brown with variable markings, Sometimes they have a broad pale marginal band. Sometimes they have a large dark patch in the middle of each forewing. The forewings each have a hooked wingtip. The wingspan is about 6 cms.

    The species Hulodes drylla has been found in :

  • Borneo,
  • Burma, and
  • India.

    There is controversy about whether the subspecies Hulodes drylla donata is itself a distinct species Hulodes donata (Schultze, 1907). It is found in

  • New Guinea,
  • Phillipines,

    and also in Australia in

  • Queensland, and
  • New South Wales.
