These Caterpillars have been found feeding on :

  • Castor Bean ( Ricinus communis, EUPHORBIACEAE ).

    They are brown loopers, inclined to stand on their terminal prolegs and claspers at 45 degrees to the twig they are on.

    The adult moths are green, with a lot of big white spots. The green colour fades to brown in dead specimens. The wingspan is about 2.5 cms.

    The species occurs in the oriental tropics, including :

  • Borneo,
  • Sri Lanka,
  • Thailand,

    as well as in Australia in:

  • Queensland, and
  • South Australia.
