These species have been placed variously by different authors into YPONOMEUTIDAE,   CONCHYLIDAE,   TORTRICIDAE,   PHALONIIDAE,   or PLUTELLIDAE,   but here, following Nielsen et al, we list them separately.

The caterpillars of these species construct and live in portable camouflaged cases, as do the caterpillars of ADELIDAE, PSYCHIDAE, and TINEIDAE.

The 9 named Australian species assigned to the HELIOCOSMA Group are:

Acmosara polyxena

Choristis discotypa

Heliocosma anthodes
Heliocosma argyroleuca
Heliocosma exoeca
Heliocosma incongruana
Heliocosma melanotypa
Heliocosma rhodopnoana

Hyperxena scierana
