The adult moths of this species have brown forewings each with a bold pattern of crooked white bands. The hindwings are fawn coloured. The males have a dark basal elliptical patch on each hindwing. The females have chequered edges to all the wings. The moths have a wing span of about 2.5 cms.

The species is found in

  • New South Wales,
  • Australian Capital Territory,
  • Victoria, and
  • Tasmania.
