The adult moth of this species is brown with darker zigzag lines across the wings. The hind wings of the female are yellow, but the male is more drab looking. The moths have a wing span of about 2 cms.

The species occurs in

  • Australian Capital Territory,
  • Tasmania, and
  • Victoria, where it is common in gardens in the suburbs south of Melbourne, where specimens can be caught from September to April.
