The adult moth of this species is brown with variable patterns. The wing margins are scalloped. The moth has a wingspan of about 2.5 cms.

This species has been found in

  • New South Wales,
  • Victoria, and
  • Tasmania.

There has been a lot of difficulty identifying specimens purported to be of this species. The moth is very similar to that of Eucymatoge scotodes and Xanthorhoe xerodes. It is possible that some of the identifications are mistaken.
