The adult moths of this species are brown with a subterminal arc of dark dots. The wingspan is about 4 cms.
This species is found only in
A specimen was originally collected on Cook's voyage, and previously it had been assumed it was taken at Botany Bay. But later examination of the label showed it was taken in the north. The southern species is now called Pararguda nasuta.
