The adult moth of this species has brown forewings, each with a vague pale spot near the middle, and an arc of vague pale spots around the margin. The hindwings are plain pale brown. The head and tail tuft are orange, and the rest of the body is covered in dark brown scales. The moth has a wingspan of about 3 cms.

The species has been found in
