The adult moths of this species have forewings that are grey-brown with dark speckles, and an indistinct dark spot near the middle of each forewing. The hindwings are pale grey-brown, with several pale indistinct submarginal bands. The moth rests typically with its forewings folded to cover the hindwings. The wingspan is about 3.5 cms.

The species has been found in

  • Queensland,
  • New South Wales,
  • Victoria,
  • Tasmania, and
  • South Australia.
