The Caterpillars of this species have been found in frass-covered webs on the flowers and leaves, and also living inside :

  • galls caused by a rust fungus Uromycladium tepperianum, ( PUCCINIALES )

    on various Wattles ( MIMOSACEAE ), including :

  • Cootamundra Wattle ( Acacia baileyana ),
  • Silver Wattle ( Acacia dealbata ),
  • Green Wattle ( Acacia decurrens ), and
  • Black Wattle ( Acacia mearnsii ).

    The adult moths have variable cryptically patterned forewings and plain off-white hindwings. The wingspan is about 1 cm.

    The species has been found in

  • Queensland,
  • New South Wales,
  • Australian Capital Territory,
  • Victoria,
  • Tasmania, and
  • South Australia.
