These Caterpillars live and pupate in a silken case covered in unoriented twigs and detritus. The case can grow to a length of up to 3 cms.

To feed: the caterpillar attaches its case to a leaf with silk, and extends its head and body to chew the leaf. The caterpillars feed exclusively on

  • Wattles (Acacia species, MIMOSACEAE).

The caterpillars pipate in their case, and possibly the males partly extrude the pupa from the case to emerge and fly away.
