This moth has brown plumes, with two pale marks near each forewing wingtip, and several dark marks on each forewing costa. Its wingspan is about 2 cms.

The moth is superficially indistinguishable from Platyptilia emissalis, and can only be distinguished by microscopic examination of the genitalia.

The species has been found in Australia in

  • Tasmania.
