The adult moth of this species is white and brown, patterned as a series of bands and triangles. It has a wingspan of about 2.5 cms. It is very similar to its related species Agrioglypta excelsalis, but the shape of one of the white markings on the forewings is different.

This species is found in New Guinea, and only rarely in Australia, in the tropical far north of Queensland. The illustrated specimen was collected from rainforest in the Claudie River district of Cape York during the middle of the Wet Season in the mid 1980's.
