This species of Caterpillar is a pest on various types of Bean ( FABACEAE ), such as

  • Soybeans ( Glycine max ),
  • Garden Beans ( Phaseolus vulgaris ), and
  • Mung Beans ( Vigna radiata ).

    It lives in a shelter made from a rolled up leaf.

    The adult moth is yellow, with brown broad wavy bands and spots. It has a wingspan of about 2 cms.

    It is found around the tropics, including:

  • Thailand,
  • Micronesia,
  • Pacific Islands,
  • Hong Kong,
    and in Australia including:
  • Queensland.
