The caterpillars of this species feed on a variety of Grasses ( POACEAE ) and are a pest on:
The caterpillar hides by day in a rolled leaf, and when mature pupates in a folded leaf of the foodplant.

The adult moth is buff coloured, with broad brown wing margins. There are also three brown lines across the each forewing, and two across each hindwing. The males have a thickened region on the costa of each forewing. Its wingspan is about 2 cms.
