The adult moths of this species are black, with large overlapping orange spots on each wing. The thorax is black and orange. The abdomen is orange with a black tail. The wingspan is about 2 cms.

The species occurs across south-east Asia, including:

  • Hong Kong,
  • Okinawa,
  • Taiwan,
  • Thailand,

    as well as :

  • Queensland.
