The adult moth of this species has dark banded forewings which each have some orange tinting, a pale area along the hind-margin with some raised scales, and a pale area by the wingtip. The hindwings are brown with a purple sheen. The head has a black dorsal scale tuft. The moth has a wingspan of about 1.5 cms.

The species has been found in

  • Queensland, and
  • New South Wales.
