The adult moth has speckled brown forewings, each with a straight costa, giving a rectangular shape. The hindwings are pale brown. Its resting posture has the head down and the rest of the body pointing diagonally straight up backward. Its active posture is the opposite. The wingspan is about 1.5 cms.

The species occurs in

  • Queensland,
  • New South Wales,
  • Australian Capital Territory, and
  • Victoria,
  • Tasmania, and
  • Western Australia.
