This caterpillar is yellow with brown lines. It is missing two pairs of prolegs, and so moves in a looper fashion. It feeds on various species of

  • Grass ( POACAE ).

    The adult moth of this species has off-white forewings, each with a vague scalloped brown submarginal band and a variable scattering of brown dots. The hindwings have a similar pattern to the forewings but are somewhat paler. The wingspan is about 2 cms.

    The species has been found in the eastern hemisphere, including in

  • India,
  • Singapore,
  • Sri Lanka,
  • Tanzania,

    as well as in Australia in

  • Northern Territory, and
  • Queensland.
