The adult moths are grey or brown, with a striking pattern on each forewing of a series of black transverse lines crossing blackened veins. The hindwings are pale grey or brown, darkening toward the margin. The wingspan is about 3.5 cms.

The moths are inclined to rest with their forewings covering their hindwings.

The species is found in

  • New South Wales,
  • Australian Capital Territory, and
  • Victoria.
