The Caterpillars of this species are white, and mine the leaves of Grasses (POACEAE), such as

  • Echinopogon species.

    The caterpillar pupates in a loose reticulated silk cocoon attached to a grass leaf. The pupa is brown, with a spine at the head end, and three spines at the tail.

    The adult moths have grey speckled forewings, each crossed by two broken pale bands, and with a similar vague band along the margin. The bands are less distinct in the male. the hindwings are plain grey. The moths have a wingspan of about 0.6 cm.

    The species has been found in

  • New South Wales,
  • Australian Capital Territory,
  • Victoria, and
  • Tasmania.
