This caterpillar is mottled brown. It has been reported to feed on bark and leaves of various woody plants.
Pupation occurs in a papery cocoon. The pupa is brown with a white coating.
The adult moths are dark brown, with a complex pattern on each wing.
The underside is paler with various markings including a broad dark band across each wing.
