The Caterpillars of this species are pale brown with a black head. They bore into the stems of new shoots and are a pest on :

  • Mango ( Mangifera indica, ANACARDIACEAE ), and
  • Lychee ( Litchi chinensis, SAPINDACEAE ).

    The adult moth is brown with shaded bands across the forewings, and a pale patch near the tip of each forewing. The hindwings are plain brown. The wingspan is about 1.5 cms. <

    The species occurs across south-east Asia, including

  • Borneo,
  • China,
  • India,
  • New Guinea,
  • Philippines

    and in Australia in

  • Queensland.
