The adult moth of this species has brown forewings, each with a curvy pale band along the hind margin. The hindwings are yellow with brown markings, including a broad brown band along the margin. The wingspan is about 4 cms.

The adult moth is sometimes a pest on fruit. It pierces the fruit in order to suck the juice, allowing entry of fruit-rotting microorganisms.
