This Caterpillar covers its case with leaves in a pattern that resembles a bud of leaves. The case in the photo had a length of about 4 cms.

The caterpillar itself had a black head and thorax, with complex white markings.

The caterpillar was found in

  • Australian Capital Territory.

    It is possible that the same casemoth species was found and illustrated by Westwood in 1854:
