The forewings of the adult of this species are off-white, each with a dark brown streak along the costa, and four sinuous dark brown transverse bands. The hindwings are yellow with a brown edge around part of the margin. The moths has a wingspan of about 2.5 cms.

Some taxonomists put this species in ODONTIINAE in CRAMBIDAE, but here following the Checklist of Australian Lepidoptera, we put it in CHRYSAUGINAE in PYRALIDAE.
