The Caterpillars of this species are off-white with three brown lines along the back, and some brown spots on each segment The head and sometines the prothorax are brown.

The caterpillars have been found feeding in the seed heads of

  • Lesser Bulrush (Typha augustifolia, TYPHACEAE).

    The adult moths have off-white streaky forewings. The hindwings are off-white, darkening toward the wingtips. The wingspan is about 2 cms.

    The species has been found in

  • New Zealand,

    as well as Australia in

  • New South Wales,
  • Victoria, and
  • Tasmania.
