The moths of this species have a complex pattern of light and dark brown on each forewing. The wingspan is about 3 cms.

The species has been found in

  • New Zealand,

    as well as in Australia, including:

  • New South Wales,
  • Australian Capital Territory,
  • Victoria,
  • Tasmania, and
  • South Australia.
