The caterpillar lives in a shelter constructed by joining leaves loosely with silk. For pupation, it constructs a more substantial shelter between leaves using stronger silk and also frass.

The adult moth has forewings that are pale brown, each with variable dark brown spots, and sometimes yellow hairs on the margin. The hindwings are dark brown.
