This adult moth has yellow or brown forewings, each with a dark marginal area. The hindwings and undersides are brown. The thorax may be brown or yellow. The moth has long upturned labial palps. The wingspan is about 2 cms.

The species has been found in eastern Australia, including:

  • Queensland,
  • New South Wales,
  • Australian Capital Territory, and
  • Victoria.
