Charles Émile Blanchard (1819 – 1900) was a assistant-naturalist
at Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle in Paris,
and was later made chair of natural history of Crustacea, Arachnida and Insect.
He wrote several books on entomology, as well as drawing illustrations for
Jean-Baptiste Boisduval.
